In 1851 Emma Quick, aged 33, born in Illogan Cornwall, and husband James R. Quick, aged 36, born in St. Mawes Cornwall, M.R.C.S. and L.A.C., General Practitioner, were living in Chapel Street, St. Just-in-Penwith, Cornwall. With them were children (born in St. Just) James R. (8), scholar, John (7), scholar, Emma (2) and William H. (under 1 yr). Visiting was (Emma's sister) Nancy Hichens (34) of Illogan, unmarried.

In 1861 Emma Quick, aged 44, born in Illogan, married, and daughter Laura (4) of Penzance, were visiting Emma's brother Richard Hitchens of Tregea House in Illogan.

In 1871 Emma Quick, aged 53, born in Illogan, and husband James Rd Quick, aged 56, born in St. Mawes, General Practitioner, M.R.C.S.E., were living at 96 Market Jew St., Penzance, Cornwall. With them were children (unmarried) John (27) of St. Just, General Practitioner, Emma (22) of St. Just, Harriet (16) of Penzance, Laura (14) of Penzance, Richd H. (11) of Penzance, scholar, and mother Harriet Quick (81) of St. Mawes, widow, independent.

In 1881 Emma Quick aged 63, born in Illogan, and husband James Rd. Quick, aged 66, born in St. Just in Roseland, Genl. Practitioner, M.R.C.S., L.S.A., were living at 96 Market Jew St., Penzance, Cornwall. Present were children (unmarried) John (37) of St. Just in Penwith, Genl. Prcct., M.R.C.S., L.S.A., Harriet (26) of Penzance, and Laura (24) of Penzance.

In April 1886 Emma Quick, widow, was granted Administration of her late husband's personal estate.

Emma married James Richard Quick, son of James Quick and Harriet Dunn, on 30 Dec 1841 in Illogan, Cornwall. (James Richard Quick was born in 1814 in St. Mawes, Cornwall, christened 30 Apr 1814 in St. Just in Roseland, Cornwall, and died on 5 Jun 1884 in Penzance, Cornwall, aged 70 years.)

  Marriage Notes:

30th ultimo, at Illogan, James Quick, Esq., surgeon, of Chacewater, to Emma, youngest daughter of Mr. John Hitchens, of Tregea, in the former parish.
