In 1851 Richard Hichens, aged 36, born in Illogan Cornwall, unmarried, mine agent, was with his widowed mother in Tregea, Illogan.
In 1861 Richard Hitchens, aged 49, born in Illogan, unmarried, sampling agent, was living in Tregea House, Illogan. With him were sisters (unmarried, born in Illogan) Caroline Hichens (52), housekeeper, and Nanny Hichens (45). Visiting were daughter Emma Quick (44) of Illogan, married, and her daughter Laura (4) of Penzance.
