In 1851 James Mayne, aged 41, born in Devonport Devon, joiner, and wife Mary [sic], aged 37, born in Christ Church Surrey, were living at 9 Lower Swan Court, Christchurch, Surrey. With them were children (born in Christ Church Surrey) Mary (7), Ann (4), John (8 months) and brother-in-law James Brown (30) of Christ Church, smith.
In 1857 James Mayne was the sole executor and a residuary legatee of his father's will.
