In 1857 Charlotte the wife of James Mayne became a beneficiary of the will of her father-in-law John Mayne of Southwark, receiving £5.

In 1871 Charlotte Mayne, aged 57, born in Ch Ch Southk. Surrey, widow, was living at 1 Lower Swan Ct., Christ Church, Southwark. With her were children (born in Ch Ch) James T (30), cigar maker, John (20), labourer at iron wharf, and Charles (15), errand lad at . . . . book maker.

In 1881 Charlotte Mayne, aged 67, born in Southwark Surrey, widow, was with her daughter Mary Staples, widow, at 11 Crossfield Lane, St. Paul Deptford, London.

In 1891 Charlotte Mayne, aged 77, born in Southwark London, widow, living on own means, was in Raymouth Rd., Rotherhithe, London with her son James Mayne (50) of Southwark, single, cigar maker (at present delivering circulars).
