In 1805 Richard Gilbert of the borough of Helston, tinner, was named in the will of his father-in-law Thomas Thomas of Breage as husband of Thomas' daughter Mary.

Borough of Helleston [Helston]; aged about 51 years, born in Breage; father's settlement also in Breage by birth and renting a tenement in the same parish; 28 years ago deponent married Mary Thomas of Breage with whom he has three surviving children*, Mary aged about 21, Jenefer aged about 16 and Richard aged about 11; has done no other act to gain a settlement.

* Son Thomas was also living at this time, but had moved to Sithney by 1815.

  Marriage Information:

Richard married Mary Thomas, daughter of Thomas Thomas of Breage and Elizabeth Cock, on 21 Sep 1791 in Helston, Cornwall. (Mary Thomas was christened 14 Feb 1762 in Breage, Cornwall and was buried on 15 Jun 1830 in Breage, Cornwall, aged 68 years.)
