In 1851 Richard Gilbert, aged 46, born in Helston, sawyer, and wife Mary Gilbert, aged 46, born in Crowan Cornwall, were living in Tubban, Helston. With them were children (born in Helston) Richard (11), scholar at home, Eliza (9), scholar at home, and Emily (5), scholar at home.
