FATAL PARAFFIN LAMP ACCIDENT.

In London, on Saturday, an inquest was held at Guy's Hospital on the body of Daniel Mayne Leahy, aged 18, lately residing at Poplar-road, Old Kent-road, whose death resulted from the explosion of a paraffin lamp. On the previous Monday evening the deceased was turning out a paraffin lamp when it suddenly exploded and threw him upon the floor. His clothing was set on fire and a great deal of crockery in the kitchen, where the accident happened, was shattered by the force of the concussion. He was discovered lying upon the floor with dreadful burns about his face, chest, arms, and back, and was removed to Guy's Hospital, where he expired on Thursday in last week from the injuries and the shock. Two little children were in the kitchen at the time of the occurrence, but they fortunately escaped being burnt, though the kitchen itself was set on fire. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death.
