In 1881 Emily C. Mace, aged 30, born in Portland Dorset, and husband Mathew N. Mace, aged 30, born in Weymouth Dorset, messenger HM customs (CS), were living at 56 Lockhurst St., Hackney London with children Alfred Geo. (8) of Bermondsey, scholar, Annie Emily (7) of Bermondsey, scholar, and Walter Nesbit (5) of Bow, scholar.

In 1891 Emily C. Mace, aged 40, born in Portland Dorset, and husband Matthew Mace, aged 40, born in Weymouth Dorset, Officer of Customs, were living at 68 Elderfield Rd., Hackney with sons Alfred G. In 1901 Emily Mace, aged 50, born in Devonshire [sic], married, was working as a domestic servant at 52 Eltham Rd., Lee, London [Kent].

In 1911 Emily C. Mace, aged 61, born in Portland and husband of 39 years M. Nesbit Mace, aged 60, born in Weymouth, were living at 76 Elderfield Rd., Lower Clapton.
