In 1820 Mary the wife of James Battrall was named as a beneficiary in her father's will.

In 1841 Mary Bottrall, aged about 50, born in the county, and husband James Bottrall, aged about 45, born in the county, copper miner, were at Highway in Tyrwardreath, Cornwall. With them were children James (15), copper miner, Grace (14), copper mine lab, John (13), copper mine lab., and Percilla (8).

In 1851 Mary Bottrall, aged 65, born in Penryn Cornwall, married, formerly laundress, was with her daughter Mary A. Hambly and her family at Highway, Tywardreath, Cornwall.
