In 1809 Joseph Vivian the son of Matthew Vivian was sole executor of the will of his grandfather, Houghton Vivian of Gwennap.

Abstract of the Will of Joseph Vivian of the Parish of Gwennap in the County of Cornwall, Miner, written 20 Feb 1810, proved 24 May 1813. ²

Gives to his brother Matthew Vivian his mare colt named Charlotte, now about 2 years old.

Gives to his chest to his brother John.

Gives his cupboard to his brother Samuel.

All the rest of his goods &c. he gives to his father Matthew Vivian of the parish of Gwennap, whom he appoints sole executor of his will.
