In 1809 Joseph Vivian the son of Matthew Vivian was sole executor of the will of his grandfather, Houghton Vivian of Gwennap.

Gives to his brother Matthew Vivian his mare colt named Charlotte, now about 2 years old.
Gives to his chest to his brother John.
Gives his cupboard to his brother Samuel.
All the rest of his goods &c. he gives to his father Matthew Vivian of the parish of Gwennap, whom he appoints sole executor of his will.
