In 1799 Benjamin Hockin son of Richard Hockin, then underage, was named as a beneficiary in the will of his grandmother Jane Hockin, widow.
In January 1826 Benj: Hocken was present at the marriage of his sister Jane to George Treglown in Illogan.
In 1828 Benjamin Hockin of Illogan, farmer, was made residuary legatee and co-executor of the will of his aunt Jane Hockin, spinster.
In 1841 Benjamin Hockin, aged about 40, born in the county, assayer of copper ores, and wife Celia, aged about 35, born in the county, were living in Pool, Illogan, Cornwall. With them were children Mary (15), Jane (13), Nanny (11) and Grace (6).
In 1851 Benjamin Hockin, aged 55, born in Illogan, assayer of copper, and wife Celia, aged 49, born in Illogan, were living in Front St., Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan) Grace (16) and Richard (8), scholar.
In 1861 Benjamin Hockin, aged 65, born in Illogan, copper assayist, and wife Celia, aged 60, born in Illogan, were living in Pool, Illogan. With them was daughter Mary Hockin (33) of Illogan, unmarried. Benjamin's sister Jane Treglown and her family were living nextdoor.
In 1871 Benjamin Hocking, aged 75, born in Illogan, widower, assayer, was living in Pool, Illogan. With him was daughter Mary Hockin (43) of Illogan, unmarried, housekeeper. Benjamin's sister Jane Treglown and her family were living nextdoor.
