Writing his will in 1644 Francis Thurlby of Gwithian, yeoman, bequeathed £6 each to the three eldest children of his daughter Allice the wife of Bennet White. Francis did not name his grandchildren; however, Thomas was the eldest.

Gives half of his goods & chattels to his wife Mary and the other half to his son Thomas and to his daughter Mary, appointing them co-executors of his last will and testament.
Wills that his brother Richard White continues to have the house that he lives in, paying 12 pence per year.
Will that his sisters continue to have the house they live in with its little garden, paying one harvest day yearly.
