  Research Notes:

At the time of the 1851 England Census Henry Potter, aged 49, born in Warbleton, relieving officer, and wife Mary, aged 47, born in Hellingly, were living in Hailsham Sussex. With them were children (born in Warbleton): Ann (24), and Frederick J (17).

In December 1851 Henry Potter was present at the marriage of his daughter Ann Potter to Herbert Beeny in Eastbourne Sussex.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Henry Potter, aged 59, born in Warbleton, relieving officer Register of Births, Marriages &c., and wife Mary, aged 57, born in Hellingly, were living in Carters Corner Road, Hailsham.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Henry Potter, aged 69, born in Warbleton, Register Births Deaths & Marriages, and wife Mary, aged 67, born in Hellingly, were living in Carters Corner, Hailsham. With them was grandson Arthur John Beeny (12) of Wartling, scholar.

The Will of Henry Potter late of Carters Corner Hailsham in the County of Sussex, relieving officer, who died 21 January 1881 at Carters Corner, was proved 28 June at Lewes by Mary Potter of Carters Corner, widow, the relict, and Frederick John Potter of Southwick in the said County, station master, the son, the executors. Personal estate £187 19s. 3

Henry married Mary Martin, daughter of Thomas Martin and Jane Waters, on 19 Apr 1825 in Warbleton, Sussex, England. (Mary Martin was christened on 14 Jun 1803 in Hellingly, Sussex, England, died on 25 Jan 1892 in Southwick, Sussex, England and was buried there on 28 Jan 1892, aged 88 years.)
