Similarly Lavinia's husband gave his birthplace variously as St. Keverne (1871), Sithney (1881) and Breage (1891, 1911).... he was born in Sithney (his father was born in Breage and his mother in St. Keverne)

The funeral took place in Redruth Cemetery, on Tuesday, of Mrs. Lavinia Sampson, aged 92, widow of Mr. Manley Sampson, for many years a baker and confectioner and a member of the Urban Council. Mrs. Sampson died at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter (Mr. and Mrs. James Glasson), Rosekenwyn, Chapel-street, Redruth. A service was conducted in the Fore-street U.M. Church by the Rev. T. J. Dickinson. Mr. M. Clemens (organist) played funeral music, and the hymn, "For ever with the Lord," was sung.
The mourners were Messrs. James Glasson (son-in-law), T. L. Glasson, J. S. Glasson and J. H. Glasson (grandsons), G. Nettle and H. Johns (nephews)....
