In 1891 Edward V. Paynter, aged 19, born in St. Ives Cornwall, assistant master, aged 44, was with his parents in Gabriel Street, St. Ives.

In 1911 Edward Vivian Paynter, aged 39, born in St. Ives, naval schoolmaster, and wife of 6 years Frances Susanna Paynter, aged 38, born in Bristol Gloucester (mother of 2 children), were living at 23 Tremayne Ter., Torpoint. Cornwall. With them were children (born in Torpoint) Kathleen Frances (4) and Edwd. Vivian K. (3).

In 1921 Edward Vivian Paynter, aged 49 years 8 months, born in St. Ives, Senior Master, R. Navy, and wife Frances Susanna Paynter, aged 48 years 5 months, born in Bristol Gloster, home duties, were at 4 Montpelier Terrace, Torpoint.
