In 1861 William Eddy, aged 37, born in Camborne, grocer, and wife Lydia T. Eddy, aged 36, born in Camborne [sic], were living in Camborne. With them were children (born in Camborne) Evelyn A. R. (9), scholar, William (7), scholar, and James (2).
In 1871 William Eddy, aged 47, born in Camborne, poor rate collector, and wife Lydia Eddy, aged 45, born in Perranarworthal, were living in Trevenson Terrace, Camborne. With them were children William (15), telegraph clerk, and Charles W. (8), scholar.
In 1881 William Eddy, aged 57, born in Camborne, collector of poor and local board rates, and wife Lydia T. Eddy, aged 55, born in Perranarworthal, were living at 27 Trevenson St., Camborne. Present was son Chas. W. (18), assistant collector.
In 1888 William Eddy of Camborne, rate collector, was sole executor of the will of his sister Jane Roberts Eddy, spinster.
In 1891 William Eddy, aged 67, born in Camborne, collector of rates, and wife Lydia T. Eddy, aged 64, born in Ponsanooth, were living at 24 Wellington Rd., Camborne. With them were son Charles W. (28), married, deputy collector of rates, daughter-in-law Mary A. (28) of Hereford, Herefordshire.
In 1901 William Eddy, aged 77, born in Camborne, collector of coal rates, widower, was living in Wellington Rd., Camborne. With him were son Charles W. (38) of Camborne, assistant collector of rates, daughter-in-law Mary A. Eddy (38) of Hereford Herefordshire, visitor Susannah Alcott (37) of Hereford, milliner, lodger Henry W. White (20) of St. Just, mining material maker.

DEATH OF MR. WILLIAM EDDY.—Mr. William Eddy, for over 40 years collector of the poor and district rates for the parish of Camborne, died on Friday morning at his residence, Wellington-road, at the age of 79. Deceased, who was one of Camborne's oldest and most respected citizens, had been incapacitated from work for the last seven or eight years ; but it was only within the past ten months that he availed himself of the pension allowed him by Government regulations. During his illness his duties have been efficiently and constantly carried out by his son, Mr. Charles W. Eddy, who, upon his father's resignation, was unanimously appointed to the vacant positions. The family of deceased have had a long connection with Camborne, and a generation ago were known as the Eddys of Mill-town. Mr. Eddy was the survivor of four brothers (James, Stephen, and Gilbert were the names of the three others), who followed their predecessors in larging milling operations at what is now known as Pendarves mills. It was this connection that led to their being called the Eddys of Mill-town.
