In 1861 Sarah Bartle, aged 24, born in Camborne Cornwall, and husband Thos. Bartle, aged 32, born in Camborne, tin miner, were living in Pengegon, Camborne. With them were children (born in Camborne) Thos. H. (6), scholar, Willm (4), scholar, Francis (2), and Ann B. (1 month).

In 1871 Sarah V Bartle, aged 34, born in Camborne, and husband Thos Bartle, aged 41, born in Camborne, working engine at mine, were living in Pengegon, Camborne. With them were children (born in Camborne) Thomas E (16), surface labourer at mine, Willm (14), surface labourer at mine, Francis (12), surface labourer at mine, Ann B (10), scholar, Josiah B (8), scholar, and Richard B (4), scholar.

In 1881 Sarah Bartle, aged 43, born in Camborne, widow, was living at 12 Church St., Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne) William (24), tin miner, Frank (22), hairdresser, Annie B. (20), dressmaker, Josiah B. (18), postman, Richard (14), engine boy, Samuel (10), scholar.

Shortly afterwards, Sarah Bartle and her son Richard emigrated to Montana, USA. In May 1885 it was recorded in the Cornishman that Mrs. Sarah Bartle, late of Church-street, Camborne, was matron of the Alice Hospital in Montana, the article recording an accident involving her son-in-law John Shovell, who married Sarah's only daughter Annie.

Sarah Bartle Borlace, widow of Benjamin Borlace, resident of Pomona California 11 years, came to USA 48 years ago, born in Cornwall England, daughter of Henry Bennett and Sarah Vallenouth, died aged 89 years 3 months 9 days. Informant Judge Francis Bartle, Pomona, Calif. ²
