Joel Lean, his wife and their two sons, moved from Gwennap to Ludgvan by 1784 where they lived for up to twenty years. Thereafter Joel and Blanch settled in Camborne around 1802.

Recites: lease from (a) The Reverend John Collings, clerk (Rector of Redruth); John Enys, esquire, Enys; Swete Nicholas Archer, esquire, Trelask (executors of Francis Basset, esquire, Tehidy, deceased), 14th March 1772, to (b) William Williams, yeoman, Camborne, (deceased). Property as given below to be held by (b) for 99 years or lives of William, son of (b), and two other persons since deceased; lease of (i), Francis Lord de Dunstanville and Lord Basset, dated 1st November 1798, to (ii) William Williams, yeoman, St Mewan, (son of (b) for 99 years or lives of Samuel Williams, aged 15, and Richard Williams, aged 8, sons of (ii); (i) became possessed of fields etc (below). (i) also possessed of 1/32, formerly belonged to (2), in Wheal Crenver and Oatfield Mine, Crowan; (i) also possessed of 1/32 of engines and materials of this mine.

Formerly in the possession of John Weston, esquire; Carriers field, Rocky field adjoining Lelant Lane, part of Weeth Estate; houses in Camborne in the possession of Benjamin Glanville, Thomas Richards and (2); house, barn and mowhay in the occupation of John Weston with first mentioned three fields above; 1/32 share in Wheal Crenver and Oatfield Mine, Crowan.

Abstract of the Will of Joel Lean of the Parish of Camborne in the County of Cornwall, Miner, written 1 Jan 1810, proved 15 Jan 1813. 3
Appoints his wife Blanch Lean sole executrix of his last will and testament, giving her all his estate and effects during her widowhood.
Following the death or remarriage of his wife he gives to his eldest son the tree land in Nanterra in the parish of Gwithian, the rent currently being received by Charles Harris. He gives £100 to the rest of his children.
All the rest of his estate and effects he gives to his children after the death of his wife, share and share alike.
