   Research Notes:

Cedrenus records that "prćfectus Gregorius" sent "Asoten filium suum" to the war in Thessaloniki against Samuil Tsar of the Bulgarians, dated to [995] from the context. Cedrenus records that "Asotć Taronitć filio" was named governor of Durazzo by his father-in-law when he married. He betrayed the city to Byzantium in 1005, he and his wife leaving for Constantinople where he became magistros.

Ašot married Miroslawa KOMETOPOULAINA of Bulgaria, daughter of Samuil KUMET Tsar of the Bulgarians and Agathe CHRYSELIE of Durazzo, about 998. (Miroslawa KOMETOPOULAINA of Bulgaria died after 1016.)
