In 1669 Vernon Carlyne the husband of Mary Carlyne was left 1 shilling in the will of his father-in-law Scipio Tocker of Gwennap, who also made bequests to Vernon's children John Carlyne and Vernon Carlyne.

In 1661 Vernon Kerlyon was a beneficiary of the will of his maternal grandfather Jeffry Gartrell of Breage, receiving 1 ewe sheep.

Vernon Carleene of Gwennap died intestate. An inventory of his goods and chattels was taken by Robert Trewartha and Thomas Harris on 29 Nov 1680 and valued to £5 10s. Administration was granted 2 Aug 1681 to John Carleene of St. Agnes*, yeoman, during the minority of Vernon's children. ²

* This would have been Vernon's brother, named in the will of their maternal grandfather.
