In 1661 Vernon Kerlyon was a beneficiary of the will of his maternal grandfather Jeffry Gartrell of Breage, receiving 1 ewe sheep.

Vernon Carleene of Gwennap died intestate. An inventory of his goods and chattels was taken by Robert Trewartha and Thomas Harris on 29 Nov 1680 and valued to £5 10s. Administration was granted 2 Aug 1681 to John Carleene of St. Agnes*, yeoman, during the minority of Vernon's children. 2
