In 1756 William Penberthy of the borough of Helston, carpenter, was a beneficiary of the will of his brother Stephen Penberthy of Helston, plasterer, receiving all his wearing apparel both linnen and woollen.

Gives 1 shilling to his brother Henry.
Gives 1 shilling to his sister Elizabeth of Lelant.
Gives 1 shilling to his brother John.
Gives £1 1s. to his daughter Betty.
Gives £3 to his son William, with the proviso that William becomes an apprentice to his brother Stephen until he reaches the age of twenty-one years, during which time Stephen will provide food and lodgings.
Appoints his son Stephen Penberthy sole executor of his last will and testament, giving him his house and contents, his working tools, his stock in timber, his wearing apparel, and all his cash.
