In 1595 Samson Manington was named in the will of his uncle Henry Manington of South Hill.
On 19 Nov 1603 Sampson Manyngton, gentleman, and Thomas Bennett, were appointed attorneys to deliver seisin on lease of a tenement and garden in Pydar Street, Truro, the parties being Peter Edgcumbe, esquire, and Walter Michell alias Collan of Truro, yeoman. 2
In 1623 Sampson Manyngton was appointed one of the overseers of the will of John Grilles the elder of Maders in South Hill, Cornwall.
