At the time of the 1901 England Census Martha Manser, age 31, born in Brighton, married, husband a sailor at sea, was living at 17 Park Crescent Place, Brighton. With her were children (born in Brighton): Helena (7), Horace (2), and Edith (4 mo).
At the time of the 1911 England Census Martha Manser, age 41, born in Brighton, widow, charwoman, and children (born in Brighton) Helena Manser (17), general domestic servant, Horace Manser (12), school, Edith Manser (10), school, and Stanley Manser (6) who was born in Cawsand Cornwall, were with Martha's widowed father Charles Adams at 11 Hollingbury Rd., Brighton.
