At the time of the 1881 England Census Rose Ellen Longley, age 20, born in Brighton, ironer, and husband Reginald Longley, age 21, bricklayer's labourer, were living at 39 Hanover Terrace, Brighton. With them was daughter Anne (5 mo) of Brighton.

In Jun 1897 Rose Longley and her husband Reginald Longley were witnesses at the marriage of Rose's nephew and niece Oscar Frank Adams to Rosetta Ellen Thornton in Brighton (the couple were 1st cousins).
