Amelia Cuckney married in 1845 to Thomas Rason, whereafter she appears as Mildred in the Censuses. Note that Mildred's daughter, Rhoda Ruth Mildred Cuckney Rason, is shown in some of the Census entries as Rhoda R. A. or Rhoda R. A. C., implying that the names Mildred and Amelia are interchangeable. Though not evident in the records, it is a known fact that both Mildred and Amelia share a common diminutive form: Millie.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Mildred Rason, age 43, born in Hailsham, and husband Thomas Rason, age 32, born in Eastbourne, annuitant, were living in Hailsham Sussex.

With them was daughter Rhoda R A (19) of Hailsham. Lodging was [Mildred's brother] William Cuckney (75) of Hailsham, rent of farm.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Mildred Rason, age 72, born in Hailsham, and husband Thomas Rason, age 62, born in Eastbourne, farmer of 15 acres, were living in Sandbanks, Hailsham.
