At the time of the 1851 England Census Ruth Cuckney, age 62, born in Hailsham, unmarried, and brothers William Cuckney, age 55, unmarried, John Cuckney, age 50, unmarried, and Edward Cuckney, age 45, were farming 53 acres of land in White Dike, Hailsham Sussex.
At the time of the 1861 England Census William Cuckney, age 65, born in Hailsham, unmarried, farmer, and his brothers John Cuckney, age 60, unmarried, partner, and Edward Cuckney, age 55, unmarried, partner, were farming in White Ditch Rd., Hailsham Sussex.
At the time of the 1871 England Census William Cuckney, age 75, born in Hailsham, unmarried, rent of farm, was lodging with [his brother-in-law] Thomas Rason, farmer, in Sandbanks, Hailsham Sussex.
