In 1901 Joseph Penprase, aged 27, born in St. Ive Cornwall, single, butcher's assistant, was boarding in Landrake Village, Landrake with St. Erney, Cornwall.

In 1911 Joseph Penprase, aged 38, born in St. Ive Cornwall, farm labourer & slaughterman, and wife of 7 years Frances Penprase, aged 43, born in Landrake Cornwall (no children), were living in Viverdon Cottage, St Mellion, Cornwall.

In 1921 Joseph Penprase, aged 47 years 4 months, born in St. Ive Cornwall, farmer (own account), and wife Frances, aged 55 years 5 months, born in Landrake Cornwall, were living in Kirkhill Castle, Callington, Cornwall. With them were Joseph's sister-in-law Ada Foreman (55y 4m) of Landrake, single, and father-in-law Robert Samuel Foreman (80y 4m) of Devonport Devon.
