At the time of the 1851 England Census Keziah Deering, aged 10, born in Heathfield Sussex, was with her parents in Mugreed, Heathfield.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Keziah Deering, aged 22, born in Heathfield Sussex, was working as a house servant for farmer Samuel Curtis in North down, Heathfield. Samuel's grandson, Charles Curtis, who was aged 13 and with his grandfather at this time, married Keziah about 11 years later.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Keziah Dearing, aged 33, born in Heathfield Sussex, was housekeeper for farmer Samuel Curtis in Banack House, Heathfield. With them was daughter Ann C Dearing (6) of Heathfield. Boarding was Keziah's brother Thomas Dearing, labourer. The Census implies Ann was Samuel's daughter. According to the register, she was the natural-born daughter of Kezia, and the father was probably Samuel's grandson Charles, who was about 19 years old when Ann was born.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Kezia Curtis, aged 44, born in Heathfield Sussex, and husband Charles Curtis, aged 32, born in Heathfield, general labourer, were lodging in Portland Row, Warlingham Surrey. With them was daughter Ann Curtis (17) of Heathfield.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Keziah Curtis, aged 65, born in Heathfield Sussex, and husband James C Curtis, aged 54, born in Heathfield, labourer, were living in Bottom Barn, Court Farm, Warlingham Surrey.
