PERSONAL

The death of Mr. Frank Clement Page in the Yeppoon Hospital recently removed a one-time old and respected resident of Mt. Morgan for many years and of Yeppoon also for many years, says Rockhampton Bulletin. Born in Cardiff, England [sic], 86 years ago, he came to Queensland at the age of 26. Going to Charters Towers shortly after his arrival, he joined the staff of the Deep Shaft Sinking Company and in that time be worked as a miner at the Brilliant, St. George and other, famous mines that produced thousands ounces of free gold and made and broke hundreds ot scrip holders. He was not amongst those who made a fortune. Leaving Charters Towers, he came to Mt. Morgan in 1891, and was employed by the late Mt. Morgan Gold Mining Company as an engine driver. He remained with the company for 30 years.
