In 1851 Sally Skewis, aged 30, born in Camborne Cornwall, and husband James Skewis, aged 33, born in Camborne, miner, were living at Pendarves Row, Camborne. With them were children (born in Camborne): Emily (5), scholar, Stephen (3), scholar, and Mary J. (1).
At the time of the 1860 U.S. Federal Census Sarah Skewis, aged 40, born in England, and husband James Skewis, aged 42, born in England, were living in Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin, USA. With them were children (a) born in England: Stephen (13), Mary J. (11), Annie (9), and (b) born in Wisconsin: James (6), Sarah (4), Emily (2).
In 1880 Sarah Skewis, aged 59, born in England, widow, keeping house, was living in Apple River, Jo Daviess, Illinois. Present was daughter Emma (20) of Wisconsin.
