In 1871 Mary J. Cory, aged 23, born in Crowan Cornwall, miners wife, and husband Thomas Cory 23, born in Crowan, were living in Tremayne, Crowan. With them were daughter Mary A. Cory (5w) of Crowan, and [Thomas's mother-in-law] Mary Thomas (55) of Gwennap [sic], widowed miner's wife.
In 1881 Mary Jane [sic] Sims, aged 34, born in Crowan, farmer's wife, and husband John Sims, aged 49, born in Crowan, farmer of 11 acres, were living in a private house in Horsedowns, Crowan.
In 1891 Mary J. Sims, aged 44, born in Crowan, and husband John Sims, aged 54, born in Crowan, farmer, were living in Horse Downs, Crowan. With them were children (born in Crowan): Mary (8), Annie (6), John (3), and [Mary's] daughter Bessie Corey (17) - called John Sim's stepdaughter.
In 1901 Mary Sims, aged 54, born in Crowan, widow, was living in Clowence Wood, Crowan. With her were children (born in Crowan) Mary (18), Annie (16), John (13), and granddaughter Mary Cock (1) of Crowan.

The funeral of Mrs. Sims, wife of the late Mr. John Simms of Crowan, who died at William-street, Camborne, on Tuesday, took place on Friday afternoon. The remains of the deceased were interred in Crowan churchyard, Rev. A. Adams, vicar, officiating. The mourners included: Misses Peters (3), daughters ; Mr. Edward Vine, Mrs. Cory (Blackrock), Mr. and Mrs. Peters, and Miss Peters, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Bennetts (cousins)....
