In 1871 Susan Nichols, aged 27, born in St. Erth, master mariner's wife, and children (born in Phillack) John V. (5), Eleanor W. (3), Sarah F. (1), were with Susan's widowed mother in West Villa, Phillack.
In 1881 Susan Nickels, aged 37, born in Hayle Cornwall, widow, lodging house keeper, landlady, was at 10 Nelson St., Liverpool, Lancashire. At home was daughter Eleanor (13), scholar.
