In 1901 Henry Andrew Cogar, aged 30, born in St. Ives, draper's assistant, was with his parents at 8 North Parade, Penzance, Cornwall.
Henry went to Canada in 1909.

On 9 Feb 1926 Henry A. Cogar, aged 54 years 8 months, born in Penzance, Eng., last residence 616 Balmoral, Wpg, married to Martha, travelled from the Port of Manitoba to meet with his brother-in-law Gordon G. N. McArthur of Vermont, USA. The Manifest U.S. Department of Labor Immigration Service Form indicates he was seeking permanent residency in the USA.

At the time of the 1930 U.S. Federal Census Henry A. Cogar, aged 58, born in England, camp care taker, and wife Martha Cogar, aged 41, born in Canada, were living in Northfield Township, Cook, Illinois. With them was son Richard (6) of Canada.
