DEATH OF MR. W. H. TROUNCE.
We regret to announce the demise of Mr. William Henry Trounce, son of the late Samuel P. Trounce, of Wonwood, South Sydenham, and brother to Mr. S. Trounce, of the Devon and Cornwall Bank, Truro. The death of Mr. Trounce is a very sad one, and throws many families with whom he was connected into much grief. Mr. Trounce had been for some years living at Saskatoon, North-West Territories, Canada, and he had come home to see his friends and two daughters, who had been residing with their grandmother under the instruction of the Misses Peeke, of Mutley. Mr. Trounce had been married to Miss Davis, of St. Ewe, near St. Austell, and a short time since she died, leaving a family of six children, the youngest of whom is under ten months old, and the two eldest girls are aged ten and twelve years respectively. Mr. Trounce had come over in full health and vigour, and had been about seeing his friends both in Cornwall and Devonshire, and was about to take out with him several young men who were going to settle in the North-West Territories, to which they were all looking forward with considerable interest. On his return from Menheniot three weeks ago it was found that he had taken a severe cold, which resulted in inflammation of the lungs, but it was not thought to be very serious. When a medical man was called in on Saturday week it was found that he not only had inflammation of the lungs, but pleurisy, and the symptons became very alarming. All that could be done for him proved unavailing, and he expired on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Trounce had a sister, who was married to Mr. Davis, his brother-in-law, who died and left a young widow. Both Mrs. Trounce and Mrs. Davis, the mother-in-law, are in much grief through the losses occasioned by the death of their children.
