In May 1892 Eliza James Sewell was present at the marriage of her sister Ophelia Jane Biddick to Robert Marshall in Lambeth, Surrey.

In 1901 Eliza Sewell, aged 52, born in St. Issy Cornwall, and husband Walter Sewell, aged 42, born in Ingrave Essex, restaurant cook, were living at 21 Faunce St., Newington, London. With them was daughter Lilian (10) of Kennington London. Sister Ophelia Marshall and her family were nextdoor.
