There were two individuals called William Roberts born in 1792 in Camborne, the first, christened 5 August, son of William and Joanna, and the second, christened 11 November, son of Stephen and Jane. The former died young and was buried on 20 Jan 1795 in Camborne.

In 1841 William Roberts, aged 48, born in the county, farmer, and wife Jane Roberts, aged 38, born in the county, were living in Trewen, Lanreath, Cornwall. With them were children: Avice (16), William (15), Jane (14), Stephen (12), John (10), Asenath (9), Samuel (8), Ursula (4), and James (2).
In 1851 William Roberts, aged 58, born in Camborne Cornwall, farmer of 200 acres employing one outdoor labourer and one boy, and wife Jane Roberts, aged 48, born in Camborne, were living in Trewen, Lanreath. With them were children: Avis (26) of Crowan, and born in Lanreath: Samuel (17), Gilbert (15), Ursula (13), James (11), scholar, Thomas P. (7), scholar.
In 1861 William Roberts, aged 68, born in Camborne, farmer of 45 acres, and wife Jane Roberts, aged 58, born in Camborne, were living at Trevelmond Farm, Liskeard. With them were children: Ursula (22), Thomas (17), granddaughter Hyacinth D. Roberts (4m) of Devonport, Devon.
