At the time of the 1841 England Census Joseph Jeffries, aged about 45, excavator, and wife Jane, aged about 40, were living in Coxtalls, Wootton Bassett Wilts. With them were children Sarah Ann (12), Harriet (3) and Joanna (2).
At the time of the 1851 England Census Joseph Jefferies, aged 50 [sic], born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, crippled labourer (parish pay), and wife Jane, aged 50, born in Compton Wilts, washerwoman, were living in Coxtalls, Wootton Bassett. With them were children (born in Wootton Bassett): Jane (16), Louisa (13), scholar, Susanna (11), scholar, and John (8), scholar.
At the time of the 1861 England Census Joseph Jefferies, aged 63, born in W Bassett, pauper, and wife Jane, aged 64, born in Compton Bassett, pauper, were living in Buthay, Wootton Bassett.
