In 1805 Thomas Short, late of Wootton Bassett but now a soldier in Ireland, was bequeathed £10 in the Will of (his uncle) Thomas Short of Wootton Bassett, gent.
In 1813 Thomas Short, then in his Majesty's Service, was bequeathed £20 from his father's Will.
At the time of the 1841 England Census Thomas Short, aged about 75, Army P[ension], and wife Ann, aged about 70 (both born in county), were living in Buthay, Wootton Bassett Wilts.
